N.J. Senate committee approves Chiesa’s attorney general nomination

New Jersey’s Senate Judiciary Committee has unanimously approved Gov. Chris Christie’s nomination of Jeff Chiesa for state attorney general.

Chiesa, Christie’s chief counsel, had support from both parties at today’s hearing, according to the Associated Press. Nothing like the year-long processes it took to get Christie’s nominations for education commissioner and Supreme Court judge in place.

The full Senate must approve Chiesa’s nomination before his position is official. Chiesa’s nomination came after AG Paula Dow announced her departure to pursue a judgeship.
