N.J. man will go to trial on Winter Classic assault charges

Glassboro resident Dennis Veteri is headed to trial on charges that he assaulted two New York Rangers hockey fans after the Winter Classic hockey game held in Philadelphia in January.

The Inquirer reports Veteri is being held on charges of aggravated and simple assault, conspiracy and reckless endangerment.

Cell phone footage captured the Jan. 2 fight outside Geno’s steaks in South Philadelphia after the Flyers played the Rangers at an iced-over Citizens Bank Park. The victims testified they were punched and kicked by Veteri and two unidentified males.
