The founder of Philadanco to speak in Mt. Airy
Joan Myers Brown, the founder of The Philadelphia Dance Company (PHILADANCO) and The Philadelphia School of Dance Arts will speak April 16 at the Wine Thief Bistro at 7152 Germantown Ave. Brown is the latest in Mt. Airy USA’s new speaker series Metropolitan Minds.
Brown is the subject of Brenda Dixon Gottschild’s most recent book, Joan Myers Brown and the Audacious Hope of the Black Ballerina: A Bio-history of American performance.
