    It was a busy few days, with Philadelphia’s best food vendors battling in Saturday’s Vendy Awards to the historic space shuttle Atlantis shuttle launch Friday.

    Here are some of the stories you may have missed on NewsWorks.

    ‘Local ‘Chuttle’ crew awed by sight of real thing

    – Four long-time friends left Deleware last weekend in an SUV they lovingly transformed into a replica shuttle called the “Chuttle.”  The transformed SUV included everything from faux rocket engines to a tailfin.

    The guys told NewsWorks’ Aaron Moselle they received honks from drivers and plenty of head turns as they made their way to Florida.

    ‘Contending for Vendy: Philly’s food truck vendors vie for honor’

    – On Saturday, the best of the best in mobile cuisine were on hand to compete in the Vendy Awards in the city’s Northern Liberties neighborhood.

    The winners were announced via the Vendy Awards official Twitter feed.

    The event helped to raise money for The Food Trust, a non-profit organization that worjks to build a strong food economy.

    ‘Oughta be a law’

    – One lawmakers wants your suggestions on ideas for new laws.  Senator Anthony Williams, D-Philadelphia is inviting voters to brainstorm new laws in what he’s calling “There Oughta Be a Law.”
