Not 48 hours since the polls closed and the race for City Council president has begun in earnest.

Newly elected Councilman-at-large Denny O’Brien is throwing his support behind 5th District Councilman Darrell Clarke, Heard in the Hall reports. The two have bonded over O’Brien’s work for children with disabilities and Clarke’s promise to do the same.

Marian Tasco of the 9th District is the other councilmember scoring support for presidency.
