Newark police say argument led to vehicular assault

A Newark woman is accused of hitting the father of her child with a car after an argument.

The domestic dispute started with an argument just before midnight on Tuesday in the 300 block of Winston Avenue in Newark.

28-year-old Ashley Addison is accused of hitting the 25-year-old male victim with her car after their verbal fight. Police said the couple’s two-year-old child was in the backseat of the car when the incident happened.

The victim, whose identity was not released by police, suffered a cut to his lower body and other minor cuts and bruises. He is at Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Addison is facing charges of second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $12,000 cash bail.
