Photographer Bas Slabbers was all over the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival last weekend. He caught police in action, children in motion, music in the air, dancing, food, family and fun. In short, everything that makes a great festival great.
We’ve already run lots of the photos from him and the other 8 reporters and photographers NewsWorks had on the scene over the weekend. The slideshow above is Bas’ “extended cut,” unseen pictures from some of the festival performers, with a decided focus on the One in Purple up close, the great Chaka Khan.
Stay tuned later for an extended cut slide show of the people and street scenes at the Jazz Festival. And check out the NewsWorks’ mini site, where all our Jazz Festival coverage is gathered together in one place.
