New math curriculum has students, parents frustrated

    As if learning multiplication tables wasn’t hard enough, it seems Lower Merion middle schoolers are getting ready for higher education with the College Preparatory Math approach.

    Lower Merion mom and frustrated parent Kelly Rowell shares her frustrations on Philly Post about the new, numberless curriculum that’s got her honors math fifth grader struggling to keep up.

    It’s language-based learning, says Rowell, who maintains the verbose text book and group learning method aren’t cutting it education-wise.
