New Jersey man gored by bull at festival in Spain

A New Jersey man is recovering after he was gored at the running of the bulls in the Spanish city of Pamplona Monday.

According to a government statement, Aryeh Deutsch and two others were gored by a bull that broke free from a pack of six just before entering the city’s bullring.

The 38-year-old engineer from Cherry Hill says he tripped and fell as a crowd of runners dashed ahead.

Deutsch says he was gored in the right calf and was released from a hospital within hours.

None of those gored were seriously injured.

The morning bull runs are the highlight of the annual festival, which became world famous with the publication of Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises.”
