New boss

Stan Wischnowski has been named editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Wischnowski has been acting as interim editor for the last 10 weeks when the newly formed Philadelphia Media Network decided that then-editor Bill Marimow didn’t have the necessary multimedia skills to lead the paper. Marimow will stay on as a reporter.

“As Acting Editor, Stan exhibited the leadership and news judgment required to manage the dominant newspaper serving the fourth largest media market in the U.S.,” Philadelphia Media Network CEO Greg Osberg told the Inky.

Wischnowsk’s new role is effective immediately.
