Neighbors question early approval of billiards lounge

A Philadelphia City Council committee has given initial approval for a billiards lounge in Center City, despite objection from nearby residents. The empty Beneficial Bank at 12th and Chestnut streets could be the first upscale pool hall in the city.

But not if neighbors have anything to say about it. Residents of a nearby condo, KYW reports, say the proposed rooftop lounge is sure to be a disturbance.

The proposal still needs a vote from the full council.
