Just shy of 2,000 utility customers are without power in the Sea Bright area late this morning.
According to JCP&L, the outage is impacting 1,081 in Monmouth Beach, 476 in Rumson, and 413 in Monmouth Beach.
The power failure is due to a pole fire in Sea Bright, according to emergency radio transmissions.
The power utility expects restoration by 1:00 p.m. today.
