National Hot Dog Day celebrates, what else, hot dogs

Saturday marks perhaps the greatest day of the year… well, maybe not the greatest, but a pretty good one, as hot dog fans nationwide are coming together to celebrate National Hot Dog Day.

In 2010, consumers spent more than $1.6 billion on hot dogs in U.S. supermarkets, according to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council.

In Philadelphia, hot dog fans are finding all kinds of ways to celebrate one of the nation’s most popular cuisines.

In Old City, Grub Street Philadelphia reports a new hot dog cart, “Scott Dogs” is set to debut with homemade hot dogs at the Silicon Fine Art Print studio.
