Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow is Christie’s choice for State Attorney General. Dow is a Democrat who worked with Christie in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Christie says her competency, integrity and leadership skills will make her a tough Attorney General. He says he’s committed to the absolute independence of the Attorney General’s office and will not be telling her how to do her job. Even though the Attorney General’s position pays less than County Prosecutor, Dow says the challenge is what’s making her take the job.
Dow: I’m a public servant that’s what I do and I’ve told others on many occasions I love being a prosecutor so who can not love being considered for the next Attorney General.
Dow says she’ll talk about her priorities as Attorney General after her nomination is confirmed by the State Senate.
