Must we feed the beasts?

    Income inequality has been growing in this country since the 1970’s, with the top ten percent of earners pulling away from everyone else, and the top 1% doing far, far better than the rest of the country.  That top 1% now controls 40% of the country’s wealth; the bottom 80% owns a mere 7%.

    In the name of deficit reduction, we’re sacrificing 750,000 jobs in the sequestration, and perpetuating the march toward a society that resembles a banana republic much more than a healthy democracy.
