Motorcycle ride commemorating Flight 93 departs from Holmesburg prison

    For the sixth consecutive year, correctional officers, sheriff’s officers and Philadelphia police officers will ride their motorcycles from Holmesburg’s Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility to the Flight 93 memorial site in Shanksville, Pa.

    The 260-mile ride begins with an 8 a.m. send-off from Prisons Commissioner Louis Giorla. The ride honors the 33 passengers and 7 crew members of Flight 93 who died Sept. 11, 2001.
