False report and drug charges for mother accused of duct-taping toddler

The woman accused of duct-taping her toddler to a chair now faces more charges from Chester Township police. Caira Ferguson has been additionally charged with filing a false police report, possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance, unsworn falsification and disorderly conduct.

Drug charges have also been filed against Ferguson’s mother, Carlita Ferguson, after police smelled marijunana during a search of the home and found a small amount of the drug in a bathroom, as the Delaware County Times reports.

Caira Ferguson has already been charged with child endangerment after it was found she’d taped her 2-year-old to a plastic chair and covered the child’s mouth with duct tape. The false report charges are the result of her claims of identity theft when she told authorities someone had posted a photo of the taped child online.
