Mom who lost job afer kidney donation will get her salary

Claudia Rendon just got some good news. After donating a kidney to her son and heading back to work to find her job had been given away, the Aviation Institute Of Maintenance now says it will pay Rendon her salary until another position at the company opens for her.

The news comes with pressure from Fox29, which has been covering Rendon’s story this week.

Rendon’s boss tells Fox the company’s approach to paying Rendon is “procedure,” and that replacing Rendon in the first place was a “mistake.” Rendon has retained a lawyer to navigate the process, which is complex due to a number of guidelines set up in the Family and Medical Leave Act.
