Modified class schedules as Catholic teachers continue negotiations

As Catholic teachers for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s 17 high schools continue their contract negotiations, students will be on a modified schedule today.

Freshmen and Sophomores will take standardized tests they were scheduled to take later this month, the Associated Press reports, while their Association of Catholic Teachers spends another day at the negotiation table with the diocese to hash out the contract.

Talks resumed late last week after the teachers went on strike demanding, among other things, salary increases and improved working conditions.
