Roxborough man feels ‘helpless’ in search for his 33-year-old son, David Taundi

Philadelphia Police say David Taundi, 33, of Roxborough is still missing, nearly one month after his car was found at the scene of an early-morning accident in East Falls.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Taundi’s car was involved in an accident at 4:15 a.m. along Henry Avenue, only a few blocks away from his Roxborough home, where he lives with his father.

“The vehicle that was registered to him was in an auto accident, but no one was found in the vehicle,” said Tanya Little, public affairs officer for the Philadelphia Police Department, in an earlier interview.

David Taundi was last seen by his father, Elimon Josiya Taundi, on the evening of Friday, Dec. 14, at their home on Dupont Street. He says he’s been searching for his son since the incident.

“Nothing has come of the search,” said Taundi, who says he asked for detection dogs and a helicopter to aide search efforts. “I wanted the whole wilderness combed.”

He says he feels “helpless” in the search for his son.

Taundi is described as an African American man, who is nearly 200 lbs and 5’8″ tall with short hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Taundi is asked to call Northwest Detectives at 215-686-3353.
