Milder temperatures this week; some shower chances

    A mixed weather week is on tap, forecasters say. 

    After a chilly Sunday night, with a southerly flow, high temperatures on Monday will be about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will remain mostly sunny. Overnight temperatures will also be several degrees warmer than over the weekend. 

    Clouds will mix with sunshine on Tuesday, with temperatures in the lower to middle 70s near coastal areas. A cold front will approach the region Tuesday evening, increasing shower chances overnight, according to the National Weather Service. 

    Skies will clear during the day Wednesday. Temperatures will remain mild, peaking around 70 degrees near coastal areas. Sunny skies are on tap for Thursday, when temperatures will drop back to the middle 60s.

    Shower chances then increase for the period between Thursday night and Saturday morning, although the forecast remains uncertain, according to the National Weather Service. Drier air is then expected to return for Saturday afternoon. 

    Another surge of cooler air is in the forecast for late in the week, although it is not expected to be as cold as last weekend, according to AccuWeather.com
