Meth lab found in Center City hotel

A meth lab was discovered inside the Hampton Inn at 13th and Race streets in Philadelphia, early this morning.

Firefighters were called into the hotel after someone found a number of gallon-sized containers that held several different chemicals, in a third floor hotel room, reports ABC6.

When Hazmat arrived, they determined that the chemicals found included lye, acetone and lighter fluid.

As of about 8 a.m. nearly all of the hotel’s 336 guests and staff were allowed to return to the hotel: all except for those on the third floor.
