Memo from Corbett’s aide lists shortcomings of other governors

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that in touting a politician’s accomplishments, staffers point out his peers’ shortcomings.

But while few eyebrows were raised for a memo from Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett’s aide criticizing some actions by his predecessor Ed Rendell, to see Tom Ridge, Dick Thornburgh and other Republican governs in the internal memo was something few saw coming. Republican governors tend to stick together.
The Patriot-News has a copy of the memo circulated to the guv’s staff. Meant to keep the staff on the same page when talking about Corbett’s first year in office, the memo specifically lists shortcomings by other Republican governors, like legislative pay raises supported by former Pa. Govs. Thornburgh and Ridge.

Nothing like starting your second year in office with a leaked memo.
