Mayor Michael Nutter says he is lobbying the regional delegation in the state house to keep State Representative Dwight Evans as chair of the House Appropriations Committee.
Sources say that even the entire Philadelphia delegation is not backing Evans to keep the position he has held for years, which is useful in funneling money to the city.
Mayor Nutter says the city supported the Democratic party in the past election and the city deserves to keep the key position in Harrisburg and not lose it to someone from the Western part of the state.
