Martin Sheen’s ‘West Wing’ performance wins him ‘best fiction president’ title
Movies and TV shows featuring a presidential character are about as commonplace as TV dramas about big city cops.
So to celebrate March Madness, the National Constitution Center put together its Presidential Madness bracket, asking, Which fictional president would make the best real-life president?
The answer is Martin Sheen as Jed Bartlet in “The West Wing.” He beat out several others before handily defeating Thomas Whitmore, the president in the blockbuster film “Independence Day.”
We wouldn’t be surprised to soon see polls comparing Bartlet to Obama, Romney and Santorum.
