Man dies after being shot in home invasion near Philadelphia

Authorities say a man died after being shot by a masked intruder during a home invasion in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Police in Montgomery County were called to the Lower Moreland Township home shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday and found the shooting victim on the front lawn.

They rushed him to Abington Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn’t been released pending notification of his relatives.

Police have not said whether anything was taken from the home. Authorities initially said the shooter was one of three or four intruders who burst into the home.
