Photos: LOVE Your Park Week cleanups in Manayunk

Residents of Manayunk, Roxborough, Wissahickon and East Falls helped kick off Philadelphia’s LOVE Your Park Week at various neighborhood parks this weekend.

LOVE Your Park Week is an eight-day citywide celebration of clean-ups, fun events, educational programs and family activities at 100 parks throughout Philadelphia. It’s a collaborative initiative between the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

On Saturday, Green Woods Charter School students were busy planting flowers at Pretzel Park while members of the Wissahickon Neighbors Civic Association joined Roxborough and Wissahickon residents in sweeping and planting efforts at Neighbors Park at Terrace and Hermit streets.

LOVE Your Park week continues through May 19.
