Love Park re-do won’t cost the city a dime

Love Park will see some small improvements next year when the park gets spruced up by the Parking Authority. Because the garage beneath it is leaky and non-handicap accessible, the park will get revamped as a by-product.

As PlanPhilly reports, no solid date has been set, but the city won’t lose money on the project; the Parking Authority will foot the bill, since the improvements must be done as a result of the garage updates.

The downside is that because the project is based around stripping the surface away to access the garage, the park could be closed for up to a year.
