Logan Square park makeover part of Parkway revitalization

As part of the ongoing effort to improve the Ben Franklin Parkway, Sister Cities Plaza at Logan Square is getting a facelift.

Work begins May 10, and is expected to take about a year.

A new cafe, play garden and boat pond are on the way, built with geothermal technologies, a green roof and a green wall, uwishunu reports.

The space will also include a fountain as part of the Sister Cities program, commemorating Philadelphia’s relationship with its first two sister cities, Tel-Aviv and Florence.
