Local Twitter users nominate anyone, everyone for mayor
Who do you think should be Philadelphia’s next mayor? And we don’t just mean Michael Nutter, Milton Street and maybe Tom Knox. If you could choose anyone to lead this city, who’d it be? We posed the question on Twitter and got some interesting responses.
Two people think Sesame Street characters are the best bets: Big Bird and Cookie Monster. Didn’t Cookie Monster become the Veggie Monster; is that like changing parties?
Some nominated themselves because it sounds fun and the chance to fire everyone is just too appealing. Zombies and Ben Franklin were among other suggestions, and a few chose to say who shouldn’t be mayor, ahem, Brian Tierney.
We’re still getting responses, and we want yours, too. Who — past, present, dead, alive, fictional, qualified, unqualified — should be the next Philadelphia mayor? Because if Milton Street is a candidate, why not Charlie Manuel?
