Local Red Cross chapter gets $500k for disaster recovery center

Exelon is putting a dent in the Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter’s fundraising goal.

The PECO parent company is handing over a $500,000 check today for the Red Cross’ Center for Disaster Recovery — the Red Cross House that disaster victims call home while they get back on their feet.

PECO employees have also agreed to update one of the lounges inside the house. Today’s donation will go toward the SEPA Red Cross chapter’s goal of raising $25 million for the house.
