Lincoln Drive traffic pattern shift throws off drivers’ routines

Every neighborhood’s got one: the bad intersection people avoid because the light’s too long, no one obeys the stop sign or the traffic backs up too much. There’s a new contender in the Northwest for patience-testing intersections and of course, it’s on Lincoln Drive.

NewsWorks’ Chestnut Hill/Mt. Airy Editor Alan Tu calls it the brick wall. What used to be two lanes that went straight at Greene Street is now split into one straight lane and one left turn-only lane. Alan staked out the intersection and grabbed video of what happens when speeding drivers realize they’re not supposed to continue straight anymore.
