Lightning sends family to hospital in N.J.
Four people, including a pregnant woman and a child, have been taken to a hospital after a lightning strike in Wildwood.
WMGM-TV reports that a sudden storm hit Wildwood on Wednesday afternoon, bringing heavy rain and severe lightning.
A family of four, including the woman and child, tried to take cover under their beach umbrella and lightning struck around or near it.
Wildwood Fire Department Chief Christopher D’Amico says there wasn’t a direct hit but that the family members had some tingling in their hands and arms.
