Light snow possible at the Jersey Shore Thursday night

A quick hit of snow is possible at the Jersey Shore Thursday night into Friday morning.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly have “moderate to high confidence” in snowfall occurring as a low pressure system tracks offshore.

The prediction as seen in the image above is for a general two inches of snowfall, with the highest amount at the coast from Ocean County to the south. Be aware of slippery travel.

The National Weather Service says another snow event is possible late Saturday, although the current outlook is with lower confidence.

The latest forecast is for a fast snow event mainly toward the Jersey Shore as another low pressure system tracks offshore from the Carolinas.

As always, the predictions are subject to change. Stay tuned to the National Weather Service’s website and Jersey Shore Hurricane News for updates.
