Legislation announced around Tacony dungeon case, study looks at babies’ reactions to mothers’ moods

Good morning, Feeders, and welcome back from the holiday weekend. It’s Cyber Monday, but all eyes are on Occupy Philly, which was supposed to abandon Dilworth Plaza last night.

Tom MacDonald will check in with the various Occupy factions, and pay a visit to City Council chambers for today’s meetings. The Education Committee will discuss prayer in public schools.

Maiken Scott will explain a study that evaluates how mothers’ moods affect babies. Though not out yet, the study has already been interpreted a number of ways. Maiken will also have a story for us on New Jersey’s Medicaid bill and the high number of mental health services.

Krampuslauf is coming. The Eastern European holiday demon will be in Northern Liberties this weekend. Peter Crimmins will tell us why and explain Krampuslauf’s history. We can also expect to hear from Peter about the end of the NBA lockout and how the Sixers will cram several dozen games into a schedule that has to compete with other events at the Wells Fargo Center — and all without a mascot.
