Laurel Hill Cemetery’s Rest in Peace 5K brings out superheroes, zombies and others [gallery]

Laurel Hill Cemetery came together with East Falls Fitness Center on Saturday for the annual Rest in Peace 5K run.

Runners from all over Philadelphia came dressed in their finest Halloween get-ups to take a run through the cemetery. Proceeds from the run benefit the Friends of Laurel Hill Cemetery, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of the historic Northwest Philadelphia cemetery. Scott Aaron, an organizer of the run and owner of the East Falls Fitness center in East Falls, said the event is a great way to combine having fun, exercising and supporting a local historical landmark.
