    The storm system that blew through the Jersey Shore this evening with gusty winds toppled power lines, utility poles, and trees.

    In Neptune, a large tree fell onto a house on Jeanne Drive, according to a Neptune Police Department tweet.

    There were no reported injuries. 

    In Ocean County. the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department sent a text alert advising of “numerous pole and trees down.” Similar incidents were reported in Monmouth, Atlantic, and Cape May counties.

    A severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service advised of damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, lighting, and torrential rain. 

    The activity is moving offshore as of 1:00 a.m. 

    Over 10,000 utility customers at the Jersey Shore remain without power as of 12:45 a.m.
