Lacey Gallgher scholarship open to all Catholic high school students in the city

Lacey Gallagher was a pretty, well-rounded, vibrant Fishtown resident. She attended Holy Name of Jesus through eighth grade, and was a senior at Little Flower High School when she died suddenly.

Lacey died in April 2007 on the night of her senior prom, the result of a car accident. Since then, Lacey’s family has worked on her behalf to give her death — and life — a purpose.

Among the many events, fundraisers and acts of legislation the family has pursued, one in particular has recently been extended to help Catholic high school students across the city.

The Lacey Gallagher Memorial Scholarship Fund is open to students in grades eight through 11, who attend or are getting ready to attend a Catholic high school in Philadelphia. The application is basic, and includes a few short-answer questions and an essay portion.

All applications are due March 1, and can be sent to: P.O. Box 15271  Philadelphia, PA 19125
