Bigger is definitely better at the Philadelphia Auto Show’s Black Tie Tailgate Preview party, held Jan. 18 at the Convention Center. This year’s show, the largest in the show’s 112-year history, covered 630,000 square feet, equivalent to 11 football fields. Nearly 4,000, guests could kick the tires on 700 vehicles and 40 brands and take a spin inside or outside the Convention Center in a number of different brands, including Jeep, Cadillac, and Subaru.
The evening, co-chaired by Richard and Ann Frankel and Scott Lustgarten of Martin Main Line Honda, Lexus of Chester Springs, and Wilkie Lexus, and his wife, Suzi, featured food prepared by Starr Events, music by Jellyroll, and a display of more than 30 antique cars, including a 1948 Tucker Torpedo, one of 51 ever built.
The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, comprised of 180 area auto dealers, raised nearly $400,000 for the Division of Gastroenterology, Nutrition and Hepatology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
