Kennett Township receives 1st place ‘Keep America Beautiful’ award

    Kennett Township will be honored tonight at an awards ceremony for those who keep their communities beautiful.

    Keep America Beautiful is giving the town first place in “Beautification and Community Greening” for its Garden Way project at the Route 1 Interchange.

    Phase II of the project will be unveiled tonight, but Phase I involved planting 30,000 lillies and 200 roses in a 5,300-square foot bed along the traffic island.
