Roxborough residents killed in Kelly Drive car crash

A woman and a boy from Roxborough were killed in a head-on collision on Kelly Drive Monday afternoon.

Police say Karen Watts, 34, was speeding down the northbound lane of Kelly Drive when she lost control of her 2008 Volkswagen Jetta just after 3 p.m. She swerved into the southbound lane, crashing headfirst with a 2002 Toyota Sienna at the intersection of Kelly Drive and Fountain Green Drive.

Both Watts and the 14-year-old passenger, Quinn Fleming, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The 62-year-old female driver in the Sienna minivan remains in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Both Watts and Fleming resided in the same home on the 7100 block of Matthias Street, but police have not yet determined their relation.
