Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Sunday, July 8, 11:30am. Outside Independence Hall, Walnut Street between Fifth and Sixth streets. It wasn’t until July 8th that Philadelphians first heard the Declaration read publicly in the square behind the Pennsylvania State House. The National Park Service will mark the 236th anniversary of that reading on Sunday on the south side of Independence Hall. BYO declaration. Free.
