A Philadelphia judge has ordered three suspects to stand trial in a case involving four mentally disabled adults who were found locked in a filthy basement.
Judge Patrick Dugan dismissed charges against a fourth defendant. The judge says Eddie Wright will not be tried, citing testimony that Wright was sometimes held captive as well.
Dugan’s decision Tuesday means that 51-year-old Linda Weston will be tried on charges that she ran a brutal scheme to exploit the mentally infirm for money and government benefits.
