Joe Pa’s halo removed from Penn State mural

Since the allegations, charges and subsequent trial of Jerry Sandusky, a mural located downtown State College has gone through a few alterations.

Artist Michael Pilato painted a halo over Joe Paterno’s head following his death in January but has since decided to remove it. He added a blue ribbon on the lapel of Paterno’s jacket instead, symbolizing support for child abuse victims, reports NBC10.

Earlier this year Pilato removed Jerry Sandusky from the piece. And the jury is still out on whether or not university president, Graham Spainer’s image will remain.
