Japanese performers arrive for Cherry Blossom Festival

The turmoil in Japan following its earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster isn’t keeping its residents trapped. Many performers have arrived in Philadelphia ahead of Sakura Sunday, the main event of the city’s Cherry Blossom Festival.

WHYY’s Peter Crimmins was in Love Park yesterday for a preview performance by taiko drummers. Sakura Sunday will be an event where they can display and honor their culture.
