To hell with the cold. Here’s a way to get out and about every day this weekend:

Baltimore Avenue Fire Fundraiser

Friday, January 25, 7-10pm. The Cedar Works, 4919 Pentridge Street. Join the Baltimore Avenue Business Association and Cedar Park Neighbors for a fundraiser to benefit the businesses and employees affected by the Christmas Eve fire at Elena’s Soul – and the damage wrought on neighboring buildings during demolition. There will be food/drinks, music, a raffle, and more.

Winter in the Parks

Saturday, January 26. 2-5pm. Seger Playground, 10th and Lombard streets, Starr Garden Playground, 6th and Lombard streets. Friends of Seger Park Playground will celebrate its brand-new playground with an afternoon of snacks, crafts, and coffee/cocoa for all in appreciation of community support for the playground project. And just a few blocks over (from 2-4pm) Starr Garden Neighbors will also have crafts, pony rides, an ice carving demo, painting, balloon animals and treats. Free.

Clover Market’s Winter Market

Sunday, January 27, 10am-5pm. 23rd Street Armory, 22 South 23rd Street.

Clover Market is hosting a winter market with 55 vendors selling a wide array of antique/flea/home goods. There are also hands-on craft workshops in floral design with Sullivan Owen, Art in the Age caramels and cocktails, embroidery with Chez-sucre-chez, a valentine letterpress workshop by Black Heart Letterpress, and more. Some of the city’s best-known food trucks will also be outside keeping everyone well fed. $5 for two tickets in advance online, $5 per ticket at the door.
