The Jackson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing elderly man.

Joseph Hue, 83, of Jackson, was last seen by his wife at approximately 2:00 p.m. Sunday when she was leaving their home, police said. Upon her return an hour later, Hue was gone and has not been in contact with his family.

Hue, who left his cell phone at home, is driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante, described as a green, four-door vehicle with New Jersey license plates “SCY75Y,” police said.

His destination is unknown. While Hue rarely strays away from his home, he was reported missing earlier this year and was subsequently found near Buffalo, NY, according to police.

Hue is described as 6-feet tall, approximately 174 pounds, with gray hair, brown eyes, and a light brown complexion, police said. The elderly man may be wearing a light colored shirt, red jacket, jeans, brown shoes, and a baseball cap.

He walks with a limp, and his mouth droops slightly due to a stroke he sustained a few years ago, police said. He has a Jamaican accent, short term memory loss, and takes daily medication.

Anyone with information about Hue’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at (732) 928-1111.
