It’s on – presidential campaign returns to Pennsylvania

It seems Republicans, or some of them at least, have decided Mitt Romney has a shot at capturing Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes, and they’re prepared to invest a couple million bucks in his chances.

Politico reported about midnight that Restore Our Future, the main super PAC for Mitt Romney has bought $2.1 million worth of TV ad time in Pennsylvania.

Politico reported about midnight that Restore Our Future, the main super PAC for Mitt Romney has bought $2.1 million worth of TV ad time in Pennsylvania.

That’s on top of the $600,000 ad buy from a separate conservative group, Americans for Job Security which i reported on this morning.

The Romney super PAC is running the ad above, called “The New Normal.”

Independent polls show Obama leading in Pennsylvania, but Republican surveys which assume a more favorable turnout pattern for the GOP give Romney a shot. And who knows, maybe there’s just so much money flowing into the super PACs that they can’t fit any more into Ohio.

We’ll see how the Obama campaign responds. Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to campaign in Pennsylvania Thursday, though that could change if eastern Pennsylvania is devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
