Interview with Hispanic American college scholarship contest winner

Michelle Saul-Yamasaki is a senior at Girard Academic Music Program in South Philly, and she also happens to be one of 15 winners of the college scholarship contest from the Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources program.

Yamasaki will be honored Tuesday with the rest of the winners from our area. The program is part of Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House Charities and honors Latino students for their achievements.

Tek Lado interviewed Yamasaki about her interest in technology and about how she came to Philadelphia from Mexico City. You can also read the essay that won her the scholarship.
