Insurers, QVC donate $200,000 to Japan disaster relief

While Japan’s strong Red Cross organization limits the need for personnel help from America, the country does need money for relief following last week’s earthquake and tsunami. two local companies have stepped up to help.

Philadelphia Insurance Companies of Bala Cynwyd and West Chester-based have each donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross Southeaster Pennsylvania chapter to the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts. QVC has also been promoting relief efforts on air.

But if you’ve been following the headlines, it’s going to take much more than $100,000 to rebuild. The Red Cross is still taking donations online, by text and phone.
